Aims and Objectives

  1. Developing Lumbini as a destination both locally and internationally.
  2. Benefits to all stakeholders through trousim in Lumbini from Hotels, Restaurants, Transport, Guides etc.
  3. Making Lumbini a 2-day must destination by popularizing lesser known sites such as Kudan Stupa, and Kapilavastu – former kingdom of Lord Buddha.
 

5 km Marathon

Designed especially for Student Participants, the 5km marathon will start from Lumbini Maya Devi garden and makes a loop around the central canal. Developed to invigorate athletics and history of Lumbini amongst young generations, the 5KM marathon will only be open to students below 16 years of age. Age limit: Below 16 years

21 km marathon

Starting from Pakadi, the 21KM marathon moves along the main way heading towards the Lumbini area. The marathon passes through places such as Bakshaur and moves towards the Lumbini conservation area ending at Maya Devi Garden. Age limit: 16 years and above

42.195 Km Marathon

Starting near the archeological remains of the ancient Shakya City which now falls in modern day Tilaurakot, the full marathon mimics the exact route which is believed to have been taken by Siddhartha to escape from the castle in search of enlightenment. The route then heads towards Niglihawa, the birthplace of Kanakmuni Buddha. The track then heads towards Araorakot (the natal town of Kanakmuni Buddha) and Pakadi and then meets the Taulihawa Road before reaching Maya Devi Garden, the finishing point. Age limit: 18 years and above

    Day-01: ARRIVAL AT KATHMANDU

    On reaching at Kathmandu international airport via respective airlines, received by an event staff and transfer to hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. You will be informed about tomorrow departure time for Lumbini. Meals included: None Overnight: Hotel

  • Mar 18

    Day-02: Drive to Lumbini (9-10 Hrs)

    After a breakfast drive to Lumbini by private vehicle on the scenic highway. On reaching at Lumbini transfer to respective hotels. Meals included: Breakfast (B), Dinner (D) Overnight: Hotel

  • Mar 19

    Day-03: Rehearsal. Briefing & afternoon half day sightseeing.

    This is the preparation day for next day event. You will be briefed regarding rules & regulation by event organizers and marshal. After rehearsal and briefing our staff will take you on sightseeing tour at some of Buddhist heritages, after an enjoyable interesting tour back to hotel. Meals included: Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Dinner (D) Overnight: Hotel

    Day-04: Event Day

    This is the EVENT DAY. Early wakeup call & breakfast then you will be transferred to race starting point. Before event you will be again briefed by our official judge and marshal. . This is the only marathon where you get your medal in the form of a medallion from the monks practicing Buddhism inside Mayadevi Garden – finishing right on the face of Buddhas point of Birth – Ashoka Piller and after an enjoyable interesting event tour back to hotel. Meals included: Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Dinner (D)

    Day-05: Drive Back to Kathmandu

    Morning travel by private vehicle on the scenic highway towards Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu transfer to respective hotels with evening time free for short walks. Meals included: Breakfast (B) Overnight: Hotel

    Day-06: International Departure

    After a wonderful time in Nepal you will be transferred to airport for your onward flight homeward bound. Meals included: Breakfast (B)

    Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu & fly to Bhairawa (45 minutes)

    After breakfast a morning half day guided sightseeing tour of the city. We shall visit major sites of cultural, religious and historical importance in the city. Tour includes visits to Boudhanath Stupa, the country's largest Buddhist stupa, and the hilltop shrine of Swayambhunath also known as the 'Monkey Temple'. After sightseeing you will be transferred to domestic airport for Bhairawa flight. Our staff will transfer you to respective hotel.     Day 03: Rehearsal. Briefing & afternoon half day sightseeing.

You will be briefed regarding rules & regulation by event organizers and marshal. After rehearsal and briefing our staff will take you on sightseeing tour at some of Buddhist heritages, after an enjoyable interesting tour back to hotel.     Day 04: Event Day.
